Supporting the Next Generation of Educators at Leicester High School

Leicester High School is proud to collaborate with local universities, giving trainee teachers valuable hands-on experience.

Under the guidance of Mrs. Wagner-Lees, our Assistant Headteacher, they become fully involved in School life, developing their teaching skills in our supportive environment.

Emily Twigger and Safiye Carter from Derby University are currently working with Year 5 and EYFS in the Junior School, while Rezwan Choudhury from Leicester University is on his first placement in the Senior School.

“In my lessons, I get to teach what I’m passionate about,” says Rezwan, who is training to be a Science teacher. “Leicester High is a welcoming school, and the students are respectful, which helps me create a positive learning environment.”

Investing in the future of the teaching profession is a core responsibility we have as a School and supporting these future educators on their journey is a privilege!
