Head Girl Reflections
Being offered the opportunity to work with my peers as representatives for the school has been a privilege and a great experience. The Prefect Team and I would like to think that we have hopefully made an impact during the school year and acted as reliable role models to the other students at Leicester High.
Having the role of Head Girl this past year has granted me the opportunity to represent the School in numerous ways; I’ve loved being able to show new girls around the School on Induction Days and Open Days, as well as give speeches at events such as our Sixth Form Open Evening and International Women’s Day. The role of Head Girl has allowed my confidence to grow massively and I'm grateful for all the skills it has taught me.
It has also been a rewarding privilege to be able to have raised money for the Prefects’ chosen charities this year. Through non-uniform days and our delicious bake sales like our Galentine’s one in February, we managed to raise a total of £1337!
Being able to organise events such as Charity Day, the House Music performances and School treasure hunts with the rest of the Prefect Team has been a moving experience. I've enjoyed being able to work with girls from all year groups, especially through the Form Mentor program, and I've built new relationships and made fantastic memories that I will not forget.
I want to say a huge thank you to the rest of the Prefect Team; it's been a pleasure to be able to work together to make all these momentous events happen, and I’m looking forward to organising our final project together, the Senior Ball!
As my time as Head Girl, here at LHS, comes to an end, I would like to wish the new Prefect Team the very best of luck for next year; I know that they will continue to make a difference and act as responsible ambassadors for the School.
