This tradition, observed on December 6th, aims to emphasise the importance of giving and community spirit. The event was accompanied by assemblies in both the Junior and the Senior School. Pupils and staff then crafted their shoes on 5th December and left them out in anticipation of a visit from the legendary figure.

The following morning, as students and staff arrived at the School, they were met with delightful surprises in their shoes, which brought smiles to everyone’s faces.

Assistant Head, Mrs Wagner-Lees said, “This was a wonderful occasion, celebrated in many countries and cultures around the world, which reinforced the sense of unity within the school. It was also a reminder of the values we hold dear at the School, in that it is not just about receiving gifts but also about giving, spreading kindness and looking out for each other.

Leicester High School for Girls continues to nurture a sense of community and tradition, and this celebration serves as a testament to the school’s commitment to values that go beyond our many academic achievements.
