Leicester High School for Girls Presents "The Wizard of Oz"
Leicester High School for Girls' Hall came alive this week with the tale of "The Wizard of Oz", brought to life by the talented students of the senior school.
Under the direction of Mrs. Rose, Head of Drama, the production transported audiences to the magical land of Oz with vibrant costumes, enthusiastic performances, and innovative staging.
The show, which took place in three different areas of the School hall, offered a unique experience for attendees. During the matinée performance on Tuesday, 31 guests from the local primary school, St. Johns, were treated to a special showing. Additionally, residents from the South Lodge residential home were among those who attended, adding to the sense of community spirit.
Throughout the evening performances, tables were set up with guests seated around them, allowing everyone to enjoy the show from various vantage points within the hall. The dynamic staging kept audiences engaged and entertained, as they followed Dorothy and her friends on their journey down the yellow brick road.
The costumes added to the production, capturing the essence of the characters. There were artistically engaging performances from all the principal roles, supported by a creative, enthusiastic ensemble.
"We are thrilled with the overwhelming support we received from the community for our production of 'The Wizard of Oz'," said Mrs. Rose. "A heartfelt congratulations to everyone involved. The feedback we've received has been so positive."
Leicester High School for Girls would like to thank everyone who attended and supported the production, helping to make it a resounding success. With such talent and community spirit on display, the future looks bright for the performing arts at Leicester High School for Girls.
