Students Excel in Charity Initiatives
Leicester High School for Girls is proud to spotlight two exceptional students, Lakshmi and Gracie , who have demonstrated remarkable initiative and dedication in supporting meaningful causes.
Lakshmi, a compassionate advocate for wildlife conservation, proposed the Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital to be the Junior Department's chosen charity. Through a compelling PowerPoint presentation highlighting the hospital's vital work, Lakshmi successfully garnered support for her cause. Following a closely contested election, Lakshmi's charity emerged victorious, reflecting the enthusiasm and commitment of her peers.
Lakshmi has also started a fundraising venture by using her sewing skills. Learning to operate a sewing machine, Lakshmi, along with her sister Shivani, has been crafting scrunchies to raise funds for the upcoming Summer Fair. Lakshmi has also requested to run a stall dedicated to selling these handmade scrunchies at the fair, inviting the school community to support her efforts.
In another commendable endeavour, Gracie has been training alongside her father for a 5K run in May, in support of Wishes 4 Kids. This outstanding charity supports seriously ill children to fulfil their dreams, providing hope and joy in challenging times. Gracie's dedication to her training reflects her commitment to the cause, with a target of raising £500 to support the charity's mission.
Mrs. Neuberg stated, "We are very proud of both girls for using their initiative and talents to support such brilliant causes. Well done Lakshmi and Gracie!"
Leicester High School for Girls applauds Lakshmi and Shivani for their compassion, determination, and commitment to making a positive impact on the community.
