Junior School Participates in Local Christmas Tree Festivals
Leicester High School for Girls’ Junior School is delighted to be part of the Burton Overy and Knighton Christmas Tree Festivals this year.
The Junior School’s tree, titled Magic and Memories, features handmade baubles created by the pupils.
Each bauble is designed to resemble a small snow globe, with glitter and pretend snow capturing the festive theme. Inside the baubles, the girls placed drawings they created themselves, reflecting their ideas of Christmas.
Ellie, who designed the baubles for the project, said: “It was lovely to see how creative the girls could be with their designs. The baubles are full of festive personality"
In addition to their main tree, the school is also proud to highlight a second tree at the Knighton Christmas Tree Festival, named Lady White in honour of Doreen White, a much-loved teacher in the Junior School who has sadly passed away. This special tree, designed and submitted by her local hairdressers, celebrates her lifelong connection to the community
The activity offered the pupils an enjoyable way to prepare for the festive season while encouraging creativity and collaboration. Their efforts have contributed to a charming display that visitors to the festivals will be able to enjoy. It also highlights the excellent work of the Junior School’s creative and inspiring teachers, who bring out the best in their pupils.
