Leicester High School for Girls Launches “Big Sister, Little Sister” Programme
Leicester High School for Girls has introduced its new Big Sister, Little Sister initiative, bringing together Year R and Year 4 girls in a supportive and engaging way.
The programme began with a warm introduction over hot chocolate, where the girls met their “sisters” for the first time. Over the coming months, they will:
- Make a gift for their sister.
- Explore the school together, sharing favourite wall displays and spaces.
- Read to each other and share stories.
- Visit at break times to strengthen friendships.
- Attend events together, building connections across year groups.
Assistant Head of the Junior Department, Pippa Gibbs, said:
"This programme helps our younger girls feel supported while giving our older students the chance to grow as mentors."
The initiative highlights the school’s commitment to developing a caring and inclusive community.
