Leicester High School for Girls Pupils Impress with Poetry Performances
Before the Christmas break, Year 6 and 7 pupils at Leicester High School for Girls spent their Form time preparing and rehearsing dramatic readings of poems of their choice.
This week, they showcased their performances in assembly, impressing staff and peers alike with their confidence, expression, and teamwork.
Each pupil memorised their lines and delivered them with clarity, using expressive actions to bring their poems to life. The standard of performance was exceptional, but what stood out most was how the pupils collaborated across year groups. They supported and encouraged one another throughout the process, demonstrating strong teamwork and enthusiasm.
The school congratulates all the pupils involved for their dedication and creativity and extends its thanks to Miss Simpson, Mrs Vicente, Miss Taylor, and Ms Rai for their guidance and support.
This initiative not only developed the pupils’ performance and public speaking skills but also strengthened relationships between year groups, reinforcing the school’s ethos of collaboration and confidence.
Leicester High School for Girls looks forward to welcoming prospective families to its upcoming Discovery Morning on 5 February, where visitors can experience the school’s engaging and supportive environment firsthand.
