Junior School Wellness Week 2025

Pupils at Leicester High School for Girls’ Junior School took part in Wellness Week, a programme of activities designed to encourage creativity, relaxation and a sense of community.
The week included portrait painting, classroom picnics, a sing-a-long boogie, a poetry party, a chocolate workshop, a talent show, a movie afternoon, and an ice cream van visit.
The sing-a-long boogie provided an opportunity for pupils to be active and have fun together, while the poetry party allowed them to explore creative writing in a relaxed setting. The chocolate workshop combined hands-on activity with an introduction to the process behind chocolate-making. Pupils also took part in a talent show, where they could share their skills with their peers, before rounding off the week with a film screening and an ice cream treat.
Pippa Gascoigne, Assistant Head of the Junior Department, said:
"Wellness Week gave pupils the chance to step away from their usual routines and take part in activities that encouraged creativity and social interaction. It was good to see them working together and enjoying the different sessions."
Wellness Week is part of the school’s commitment to developing a positive school environment, supporting pupils’ personal and academic development.
