A group of Leicester High School for Girls students took part in their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Silver and Gold practice expedition in the Peak District last weekend.
The girls spent several days walking and camping as part of the preparation for their final assessed expedition. They navigated independently across varied terrain and worked well together as a group, making steady progress throughout.
The weather was clear and dry, which helped to make the experience a positive one. Staff who accompanied the trip said the students conducted themselves well and demonstrated good teamwork and organisation.
The DofE Award remains a valued part of school life at Leicester High, offering students the chance to develop skills beyond the classroom.
