Information for academic year 2021-2022
Frequently Asked Questions: Academic Year 2021-2022
Our latest precautions, updated 22 February 2022:
Face-coverings
We ask that all pupils in the Senior School and all staff in the Junior Department and Senior School continue to wear a face-covering when in a communal area, including corridors and the lunch hall. The wearing of face-coverings in the classroom is at the discretion of individual students and members of staff.
Testing
From 21 February 2022, the Government has removed the guidance for staff and students to undertake twice-weekly asymptomatic testing. This means that if your daughter is not displaying any symptoms associated with the COVID-19 virus there is no requirement to take a lateral flow test.
Isolation
From Thursday 24 February, the Government removed the legal requirement to self-isolate following a positive test. Adults and students who test positive continue to be advised to stay at home and avoid contact with others for at least 5 full days, and return to School only after they have received two negative test results on consecutive days. Please may I stress the importance of following the advice above. Throughout the pandemic, the overriding priority of Leicester High School has been to secure the safety of our community, and as a result of our rigorous approach, we have recorded relatively few cases of contagion. Therefore, if your daughter displays symptoms associated with COVID-19 she needs to take a lateral flow test and if she receives a positive result I strongly recommend that she remains at home for at least 5 days or until she records two negative test results.
With your support for the measures above, we are optimistic we can continue to keep LHS a safe environment for your daughter and continue to provide your daughter with an exceptional all-round education.
Remote Education for Self-isolating Students
Where individual pupils need to self-isolate, but the majority of their peer group remains in School, work will be set via Show My Homework.
