Exploring Life's Cycle
Leicester High School for Girls is delighted to announce an exciting educational project on the 'life cycle'.
In collaboration with the Science Department, pupils collected eggs from Stonehurst Farm in Mountsorrel, incubated them at school, and now, the chicks are hatching, filling the School with excitement.
But that's not all. Alongside the chicks, the School is nurturing caterpillars as they prepare to transform into butterflies. This hands-on experience offers students a unique insight into the wonders of nature.
"This project develops a deeper understanding of the natural world," says Andrew McMurray, Head of the Science Department. “It's all about hands-on learning and experiencing things firsthand”.
Through this initiative, Leicester High School for Girls aims to inspire curiosity, empathy, and environmental stewardship among its students.
