Leicester High Gymnasts Impress at Competition
Leicester High School for Girls’ gymnastics squad was awarded the Spirit of the Games Award at the Inspire Together Excel Competition on Friday 7 March, recognising their sportsmanship and teamwork.
Twelve pupils—four from Year 6 and eight from the Junior School—took part in the Leicester City Schools Gymnastics Competition at New College, competing in both Level 3 and Level 4 categories.
The Level 3 teams placed 6th and 5th, while the Level 4 team, made up of two Year 5 and two Year 6 pupils, finished 2nd overall, securing silver medals. Year 6 pupil Haleema also delivered an excellent routine, achieving the 3rd highest individual score and earning a bronze medal.
Mr Tratt and Miss Wood praised the team’s efforts, saying:
"The girls performed well, supported each other throughout, and represented the school brilliantly."
