Harvest Box Competition Supports Women’s Aid

Students at Leicester High School for Girls participated in this year’s Harvest Box Competition, with the theme 'Famous Vehicles.'

The girls decorated their boxes with well-known vehicles, including a Doctor Who TARDIS, the Hogwarts Express, and a Cinderella Pumpkin Carriage. The boxes were filled with food donations to support Women’s Aid, a charity helping women and children affected by domestic abuse.

The competition was judged across five categories, with the winners as follows:

  • Lower School Award (Years 6-8): 8C
  • Upper School Award (Years 9-11): 10G
  • Sixth Form Award: 23L
  • Most Collected Items: Year 6
  • People’s Choice Award: 9F

In an assembly, prefects explained the significance of the Harvest Boxes and highlighted the charity’s work, reinforcing the importance of giving back to the community.

Sixth Form prefect Amritha, said:
"It was amazing to see everyone get involved and put so much effort into their designs. Knowing that the food we collected is going to a good cause like Women’s Aid made it feel even more meaningful."

All food collected will be donated to Women’s Aid as part of the school's ongoing efforts to support local charities.
