Historic Debut for Cricket Teams
Leicester High School for Girls' cricket teams made history yesterday with multiple significant events.
The Year 5/6 team participated in the county championships after winning their qualifying tournament earlier in the year. Despite a valiant effort, they narrowly missed out on a bronze medal in what was an incredibly close and thrilling contest. The parents who supported this event were amazing, contributing significantly to the team's success and morale.
Additionally, the Year 7/8 and 9/10 teams played their first ever cricket matches, marking a milestone for the school. These one-off games showcased the girls' dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship, making the school proud and showing immense potential for future matches.
This is just the beginning for girls' cricket at Leicester High School for Girls, and there is great excitement for what the future holds.
