Leicester High School for Girls Drama Students Shine at Shakespeare Festival

Leicester High School for Girls is pleased to announce the successful performance of our Drama students at the recent Shakespeare Festival held at the Sue Townsend Theatre last Friday.

The event featured a range of local schools and provided our students with an opportunity to perform "The Tempest" on stage.

One of the highlights of our performance included the creative interpretation of Ferdinand as a lost son on an island, resembling the popular character "Where's Wally." This unique take added a delightful and whimsical twist to the classic play, showcasing our students' creative thinking.

Another standout moment was the shipwreck scene, which was intense and whimsical, capturing the audience's attention. Mrs. Rose, Head of Drama at Leicester High School for Girls, said, "I'm proud of our girls' efforts at the Shakespeare Festival. They worked hard on their performance of 'The Tempest,' and their commitment showed on stage. It's rewarding to see them grow as performers."

Leicester High School for Girls remains committed to nurturing artistic talents and providing opportunities for students to excel in various creative fields. This successful performance at the Shakespeare Festival underscores the school's dedication to promoting excellence in the performing arts.
