Leicester High School for Girls' Young Runners Excel in Cross Country Competition
Leicester High School for Girls runners in Years 3 through 6 recently competed in the highly anticipated Cross Country competition held at Victoria Park.
This event included over 1000 participants from various Schools across Leicester, and our young athletes made their mark.
One highlight of the day was the exceptional performance of Shivani, a Year 6 student at Leicester High School for Girls, who achieved a fantastic 17th place finish in her year group. Her achievement places her within the top 20 competitors, earning her the opportunity to represent her school and city at County level.
Sam Tratt, the sports coach at Leicester High School for Girls said, "Everyone performed brilliantly and I am very proud of them. What truly sets our girls apart is not just their athletic abilities but also their exceptional manners and kindness." He further added, "During the event, our girls went the extra mile by offering support to a Year 4 pupil from another school who was on her own. Their actions did not go unnoticed by the teacher from the other school, who commended their kindness and support."
Leicester High School for Girls is proud of all its participants, especially embodying the values of community spirit. The School remains committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel not only in academics but also in character and empathy.
