Congratulations to Year 7 Pupil Soma for Winning Three Gold Medals and One Silver Medal at the LTA Grade 3 Tennis Tournament, held at Sutton Coldfield.

Years 5, 6 and 7 students studying English recently enjoyed a fantastic theatre trip to ‘The Curve’ in Leicester. They watched An Unexpected Twist, a bold re-telling of the Charles Dickens classic by one of the best-loved figures in the world of children’s literature, Michael Rosen.

Congratulations to talented young chess player Amana (Year 10) who secured second place in the highly competitive Leicestershire Chess Championship, on 4 June. In addition to her silver medal, Amana won the 'overall Girls Under 16' trophy, showcasing her exceptional skills and dedication to the game.
Year 8 and Year 5 enjoyed a "Big Sister/Little Sister lunch today. They consumed rather a lot of pizza, chips and chocolate brownies! An enjoyable treat for all.
Nxt Gen Innovators are inviting students from Year 7 to 10 to join in a 3-hour online chess tournament which takes place on Monday 29th May from 1pm – 4pm.
LHS are now caring for four more duck eggs, they have been incubating for a while and cracks are starting to show. Hopefully we’ll have some successful hatching soon.
Leicester High School have obtained three places for three experiments to be launched on the MARSBalloon project.
Our experiments will be carried by a helium filled balloon to a height of 30km which is more than twice the height of commercial airliners. At this height the balloon will be above 99% of Earth’s atmosphere. Along the way the experiments will experience conditions very similar to the surface of Mars including temperatures of -50°C, pressures 1/100th that of sea level and an increased radiation dose.
In line with tradition, our School Poet Laureates have been busy creating poems to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and Camilla, the Queen Consort. The girls will be sending their poems off to Buckingham Palace next week; we hope our new King and Queen will enjoy reading them as much as we did!
As part of their work on local government, in their PSHCE lessons, the girls formed their own campaign parties and delivered a manifesto of election promises, after which a ballot was held in each class.
