Our Year 13 Biology students recently took part in the Biology Olympiad. This competition challenges and stimulates students with an interest in biology to expand and extend their talents. Students were presented with topics and ideas which they were not familiar with, so had to utilise their problem-solving skills and understanding of core principles.

On Thursday 2 March we celebrated World Book Day. The Juniors got fully into the spirit of the event with dress-up for both the staff and girls. Their visit to the Senior Assembly, including a truly terrifying Miss Trunchbull!, will go down in LHS history! 

Alongside assembly, there were also book-related crafting activities and a book swap for girls and staff.  

On Saturday 11 March, we welcomed 20 girls from primary schools across the county to our PE Masterclass. Girls attended from Linden Primary, Mellor Community Primary, Brookside Primary, St John the Baptist, Old Mill primary & Church Langton Primary for a morning of fun sporting activities.

Unfortunately, the School will be closed today (Friday 10th March) due to snow making travel difficult. Students should check Show My Homework for work set throughout the day. On Saturday 18^th February, it was the D of E training day for Bronze, Silver and Gold participants.  A total of 60 students across Years 9-12 attended the day at school in preparation for their upcoming expeditions. This year, there is a total of 6 groups enrolled at Bronze, 3 groups enrolled at Silver, and 1 group enrolled at Gold. 

As part of our Gold D of E Award we embarked upon learning a foreign language in Paris alongside students from all over the world to complete our residential section.
