I can hardly believe we are at the end of another fantastic LHS year!
A most rewarding, exciting and effective initiative has been taken on recently in the Modern Languages Department. 7M have been writing to a group of similarly aged pupils from a mixed boarding school in France, near Strasbourg. Introductions, letters and recipes have crossed the English Channel and been shared with their new-found friends.
Students in Years 11, Year 12, 13 and their parents joined us over two nights in June for the Sixth Form and Year 11 Summer Balls.
On the morning of the 19 June, 13 Year 12 students, Miss Tyler and Mr Ryman headed down to sunny Brighton
Our Jubilee Celebrations will take place on the afternoon of Monday 6 June.
DofE season is fully upon us and it was great to accompany the students to the Peak District to complete their practice expedition.
This year we are very pleased to be able to run a whole Senior School Sports Day on Thursday 7 July.
We are delighted to announce that Sabine S in Year 9 was shortlisted for the Bio Art Attack Competition (organised by the Royal Society of Biology).
We are delighted to announce the return of the University of Oxford's ever-popular French and Spanish flash fiction competition which is open to pupils in Years 7-13 who are studying French or Spanish.
The Year 11 Rugby Team recently took part in a training event, alongside Oundle school, at Loughborough University led by players from Loughborough Lightning.
Six of our Year 12 students presented their proposals at Uppingham School on 4th March. The students were placed in mixed-school groups, working on Zoom in the February half-term on their pitch.
Debating Club members held their first formal debate of the year on Wednesday 2 February, with two teams debating the motion: “This House believes that there should be financial rewards for people to get vaccinated”.
