GCSE Geography at Grade 7 or above
Course overview
The study of geography encourages the development of spatial awareness and a sense of place. The topics studied have relevance to the modern world and maintain a balance between physical and human geography.
Geography develops your ability to express ideas and arguments clearly and logically in written and oral work. There is a strong emphasis on you undertaking your own research. This encourages individual interests to be explored, as well as developing independent research skills. Local fieldwork is undertaken, as well as a short residential course during the spring term of Year 12. The fieldwork directly supports the course and focuses on coastal processes and urban land use.
