Curriculum
At Leicester High School for Girls, we see education as more than exams; we inspire intellectual curiosity and a love of learning.
Girls join our Senior School in Year 6, gaining an extra year in the secondary curriculum. Without SATs, they study a broad subject range from Year 6 through to GCSEs and A Levels.
Our engaging, high-quality lessons, enriched by visits, speakers, and cultural activities, bring learning to life. We provide tailored support, helping every girl achieve her best across a wide range of subjects.
GCSEs
All of our students study for GCSEs in English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and either Double or Triple Science. Students also have lessons in PSHCE and PE.
Alongside these core subjects, students select four option choices from:
- English language
- English literature
- Mathematics
- Sciences (double award or as three separate sciences - Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
