Parents and Staff Perform "Stepping Out"
The Drama Department hosted a wonderful performance of "Stepping Out," featuring our talented staff and parents.
The play follows the journey of an eclectic group of women and one man attending a weekly tap-dance class. Under the guidance of Mavis, an ex-professional dancer, the group transformed from awkward beginners to confident performers. The characters, including the cheerfully overweight Sylvia, shy do-gooder Andy, snobby but well-meaning Vera, timid Social Security worker Dorothy, sharp and attractive Maxine, plain Lynne, fun-loving Rose, and the lone male Geoffrey, captivated the audience with their relatable struggles and triumphs.
The highlight of the evening was the show performance, where the class showcased their improved dancing skills in a triumphant and entertaining finale.
"We are delighted with the positive reception of this performance," said Jo Rose Head of Drama. "The staff and parents worked really hard and rehearsals have been so much fun."
