Students Partner with PepsiCo to Develop Cereal Bar
Leicester High School Year 9 students joined forces with leading global food and beverage company PepsiCo to design a cereal bar.
This partnership aimed to provide valuable real-world experience for the students.
Under the guidance of representatives from PepsiCo, the students created a cereal bar that was not only tasty but also promoted a healthy lifestyle. The collaboration kicked off with a brainstorming session.
Throughout the process, the young innovators learned about product development, including nutritional considerations and branding strategy. The students embraced the challenge, combining their perspectives with the expertise of the PepsiCo team to shape the cereal bar's recipe and design.
Head of Science, Mr Andrew McMurray, said, “The workshop provided our pupils with invaluable insights into design, entrepreneurship and innovation. It was wonderful to see so much creativity."
Working side by side with professionals highlighted the importance of partnerships that bridge the gap between education and industry. The partnership between Leicester High School for Girls and PepsiCo will continue next year, enabling the students to further refine their design and make their cereal bar.
