Year 8 Volleyball Debut

A team of Year 8 students recently took part in their very first competitive volleyball event and made a fantastic impression.

Held earlier this week, the competition brought together six local schools for an exciting evening of matches. The Leicester High team played five games in total, securing two well-earned victories and narrowly losing three closely contested matches.

This was the girls’ first experience of playing volleyball competitively, and they embraced the challenge with determination, energy, and a great team spirit. Their positive attitude and quick improvement throughout the evening didn’t go unnoticed.

"The girls had an absolutely brilliant time," said Sports Coach, Sam Tratt. "They showed great sportsmanship, supported each other throughout, and left already asking when they could play again."

Leicester High School for Girls encourages students to try new experiences and step outside their comfort zones – and this group of Year 8 girls did just that with confidence and joy.
