Enrichment
Enrichment is all about giving every pupil the chance to enjoy experiences that bring their learning to life
Why do we have the LHS Enrichment Programme?
- To help pupils create unforgettable memories.
- To support them in becoming well-rounded individuals.
- To provide fun experiences that help them grow beyond the classroom.
- To give pupils unique opportunities that make them stand out—whether it’s for a UCAS application or simply in life.
These activities take place before and after School and at lunchtime.
Duke of Edinburgh Award
At Leicester High School, the Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) is a fantastic opportunity in which most of our Senior girls participate, starting with the Bronze level. Many go on to achieve Silver and even Gold, building on their experiences and pushing themselves further.
The DofE Award is highly valued by universities and employers because it’s a real test of resilience and determination. But more importantly, it’s a chance for our girls to grow in confidence and develop essential life skills. Through activities like teamwork, service, and learning new skills, they build independence, organisation, and the ability to work well with others—all while creating amazing memories and friendships along the way.
Having done Bronze, Silver and currently doing Gold I have made lifelong friends and definitely memories that will stick with me for a long time

Trips and Visits
At Leicester High School for Girls, we offer an extensive range of trips and residential experiences designed to enrich learning and provide unforgettable memories for our Senior girls. These opportunities allow students to connect their classroom knowledge to real-world experiences, bond with peers, and grow as individuals.
Our trips vary each year but always aim to inspire and excite. Highlights for younger years include the Residential bonding trip for Year 6, visits to the Pitt Rivers Museum for Art, and a Sheringham Geography Residential for Year 7. Older students have enjoyed adventures like the Normandy Residential for French students, GCSE Biology fieldwork at the Cranedale Centre, and a Bay of Naples trip for Food Studies and Geography. Sixth Form students have taken part in inspiring experiences such as a Psychology Conference in Birmingham, a DNA workshop at the University of Leicester, and the Bay of Naples Geography Residential.
Whether it’s a local museum visit, a national conference, or an international residential, our trips aim to spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and create memories that last a lifetime.
